I.D.: Sexes similar: gray-brown upperparts; gray cheek; bold spots on the throat and breast; light belly and undertail coverts; thin, gray eye ring.

Size: L 7 in. (18 cm).

Range: rare spring migrant in the eastern Rockies.

Habitat: migrates through woodlands up to the upper subalpine.
