I.D.: Sexes similar: chestnut crown; gray eyebrow and face with a white 'jaw' line and throat; reddish-brown-streaked upperparts; lightly streaked, gray breast; buffy sides. Size: L 53/4 in. (15 cm). Range: very rare migrant or vagrant throughout the Rockies. Habitat: wet shrublands, often near lakes or streams, and cattail or bulrushes marshes in the foothills and the lower montane. |
